Man, You Been Doing All This Dope Producin’ – Mike 2600 official Dre Day 2011 mix

I bought a Mike 2600 tape about 10 years ago called Yars’ Revenge, which was hand painted and artwork based on the old Atari cartridge cover. Anyway, Burlesque of North America have recently held their 9th annual Dre Day celebration and Mike has put this mix together to mark the occassion. As always, top quality stuff from Mike – check him out on the twitter or his design blog (he’s one of my favourite design peeps).

Donuts for lunch:

It’s Dilla’s birthday so I thought it would be only right to mark the occasion on here with a selection of a few Jay Dee related bits, so grab a donut and your favourite beverage and have a listen.
First off, via Hypedog is a live Dilla tribute set from Mos Def and Robert Glasper with a six piece band from 2008 recorded at Ann Arbor.

Next up is a couple of nice mixes that did the rounds a while ago from Bowls at Music City Living. These are two mixes focusing on records Dilla’s used from the rock section.

House Shoes has put out his mix of Dilla’s records from last year or maybe the year before, King James Version out for free to mark Dilla Month.
