Here’s a tape of some hip hop shows from Fresh FM – Leicester’s pirate radio station – from 1993. The first side has the Hardcore Trio and the other has D-Krime playing some good stuff from the early nineties. This is what I used to listen as a young lad – classic stuff.

This is a radio documentary special from BBC Radio 1’s Friday night hip hop show National Fresh with Jeff Young, The History of Hip Hop.  It’s a 60 minute show with contributions from Afrika Bambaataa, Grandmaster Flash, Jam Master Jay, Ice T, Trugoy from De La Soul and more.  As an extra bonus you get to hear a Fat Joe record played on Leicester’s legendary Fresh FM at the end.
