Revenge ‘n’ B (Bitterness is a Virtue) by Rob Pursey

Southern Hospitality’s Rob Pursey has come up with a new RnB mix, themed on relationships that have gone sour, people scorned and general heartbreak. You know this is going to be good so get it on your Walkman.

It’s just reminded me of a request DJ Santero got a while back, which was: “Have you got a song for someone who’s with someone but wants to fuck someone else?”

Wax Poetics Mix by Monk One – Big Fun In The Big Town

There’s a load of good mixes about at the moment: this one is Monk One doing a mix themed around the classic 80s hip hop documentary, Bram Van Splunteren’s Big Fun In The Big Town, that has recently got a DVD release from Five Day Weekend.

This is really well put together, using excerpts from the film along with tracks from the era. As with everything that’s on WWHD this is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. If you’ve never seen the film in question it’s definitely worth checking out. I may have to get the DVD as I’ve only ever seen it off a fuzzy VHS cassette. If it’s got some decent bonus footage then I’m definitely in.

Marc Mac (@marc4hero) – Dusty Disco Crates

A new mix of disco from 4Hero’s Marc Mac. Nothing else needs to be said – this is premium stuff. There’s a lot of serious drums on this for the b-boys… DUSTY.

I also recommend checking out Marc Mac’s latest Visioneers release – Hipology

Southern Hospitality’s Twelve 12s Vol 36: Howie Tee Special

Here’s a new mix I’ve done for Southern Hopsitality’s ongoing series of live, vinyl only mixes – Twelve 12s – focusing on the work  of hip hop producer Howie Tee, someone who doesn’t get mentioned among the greats as much as he should be.

Make sure to peep the rest of the series – good music throughout, the SH fan don’t put out any junk.
